Winnie or Goose will remain with their handler throughout the visit with their comfort and welfare considered at every stage and quiet breaks taken whenever needed.
For people who find comfort in the company of dogs, Winnie or Goose can offer a gentle, reassuring presence during the day.
They aren't there to perform, entertain or take attention away from the person being remembered. They are simply there — perhaps to sit quietly nearby, offer a friendly face as guests arrive, or spend a little time with someone who would welcome their company.
There is never any expectation to interact. Some people may want a stroke and a quiet moment together; others may simply enjoy seeing Winnie or Goose from across the room. Whatever feels right is absolutely fine.
How can Winnie or Goose be part of the day?
Before the service — spending quiet time with the family or being present as guests arrive.
During the service — settling quietly with you in an agreed position, where the venue and family would like them to be present.
Afterwards — joining a wake, memorial gathering or celebration of life.
A visit just for the family — because somebody might want the companionship of Winnie or Goose around the difficult period without wanting a dog at the actual funeral at all.
